NAONE January & February Update

Thank you everyone and the community of Pensacola for your continued support throughout the past months, the winter season, and the beginning of 2025 - we have been able to accomplish a variety of our goals throughout that time and provide assistance to more community members in the Pensacola area. Without all of your support we would not have been able to carry on the work or make it this far into the disaster created by Hurricane Helene.

We wanted to provide you with an update on how we have been able to help the community based on your efforts - here is a list of what has been accomplished thanks to all of you:

  • Through Gods pit crew we were donated 6 singlewide trailers that we graded areas for their delivery, being facilitated by part of our leadership team

  • Graveled a ¾ mile long road in preparation for an upcoming funeral ceremony in partnership with a donor

  • Build water diversion systems with the materials found on the mountain to prevent damage to locals property and flowing into crawlspaces under homes

  • Partnered with WaterStep in setting up a water filtration system to provide showers for volunteers at camp and community members (also taught us how to make bleach)

  • Outfitted a shed that was donated directly to the organization to use as a new command center during the remainder of our time here in Pensacola

  • Received 5k from a donor and gave to a local to assist with rebuilding her property and continued recovery

  • Received a donation directly to the organization in the form of an RV for leadership and long term volunteers accommodations while staying on site

  • Received several donations from locals to pass on goodwill to others in the community who are still receiving assistance

  • 18.5k Excavator rented with donated funds from Martyr’s Walk for larger projects

  • 106 Tons of gravel has been placed that was received through donated funds was spread on driveways and roads

From our initial list of around 500 documented jobs we have finally gotten down into the 50s of jobs that remain to be completed. We are hoping to complete the remaining number of these jobs and any others that we pick up before the end of our time in Pensacola, NC. Some of the upcoming projects that we are looking to complete - a driving bridge, stabilizing a bridge from and landslide, continued distribution of gravel and repair to roads and driveways, and installing culverts to improve drainage.

Thank you all for your continued support - we are in a huge phase here at camp to complete the remainder of our jobs, begin the cleanup process, continue to spend time working on the property we were so lucky to be allowed to use here in Pensacola to leave that better than we found it. If you are looking to volunteer, come out and help us finish strong.
