Camp Miller December Update

I want to start this message with my heartfelt gratitude for so many of you showing up for the resilient people of Pensacola, NC. The generosity in the forms of fundraising, donations, volunteering, networking and constant prayers and thoughts are all necessary on this journey of recovery and rebuilding.

With your partnership we have been able to rebuild so much that the storm washed away:

  • We have 500+ total projects that have been entered into our system in the last 65 days and at least 150 more before we were digital

  • Currently have completed in excess of 450 projects

  • Replaced two vehicle bridges and two walking bridges

  • Insulated and dried in multiple houses / temporary dwellings

  • Re-settled multiple families, whose homes were destroyed, in campers temporarily

  • Served over 35,000 meals

  • Donated a vehicle to a family that had their car destroyed by the storm

  • Provided access and egress to well over 200 homes with repaired driveways, culverts and gravel

  • Mucked out basements, garages, kitchens and living areas

  • Returned rivers and creeks to their original flows

  • Provided shower and laundry facilities

  • Connected multiple people who had vital communication needs to starlink while creating communication hubs

  • Distributed and installed over 250 generators

  • Distributed well over 600 heaters

  • Repaired countless electrical, HVAC, plumbing, roof, foundation issues

  • Removed trees that caused or threatened to cause damage

  • Distributed over 12,000 gallons of gas, 7,000 gallons of diesel and 2,000 gallons of kerosene
