April Newsletter Update
🌧 Turning Setbacks into Stability
April was a month of real, on-the-ground impact. Our team tackled landslides, water redirection, washed-out driveways, and more — helping families regain access to their homes, protect what remains, and begin the long process of recovery.
🛠 April Field Work Highlights
✔️ Culvert Cleanout & Driveway Rebuild
We removed, cleaned, and reinstalled a culvert to restore proper drainage, then rebuilt a washed-out driveway using fill ballast and gravel — giving a family safe access to their home once again.
✔️ Water Redirection & Backyard Grading
Behind one woman’s home, rising groundwater and surface runoff were threatening her foundation. We built a new creek bed and dug runoff trenches to safely redirect water flow away from her home, then graded and repaired the erosion in her backyard.
✔️ Landslide Repair in High Elevation
We responded to a couple living high up in Pensacola, where a landslide had threatened their access and stability. Their remote gravel road, with its sharp switchbacks, has made it nearly impossible to get help — but we showed up with equipment and a plan.
✔️ Crawlspace Access Recovered
One local man's crawlspace access was completely buried under nearly 5 feet of rock and mud from a past landslide. We worked to dig it out and clear the area. His home still has a long road ahead, but this was a critical first step forward.
✔️ Forestry Project Access Restored
We installed two 5-foot culverts to help a local man regain access to his forestry land, enabling him to continue the land management and sustainability work he was doing before the storm.
🧾 Organization Updates
✅ Opened NAONE’s official bank account – a key step in becoming fully operational and transparent
✅ Returned all rented heavy equipment from recent phases of fieldwork
🙌 A Word of Thanks
Every trench dug, culvert placed, or stone moved this month was powered by your support — whether through donations, gear, prayer, or time. Thank you for being part of this movement.
We’re not done. But in April, we helped people take the next step — and that’s worth celebrating.
